The rivalry continues next weekend in Boston! Fans have enjoyed America’s Pastime at the hallowed grounds of Fenway Park since 1912. Currently, the Red Sox occupy last place in the AL East. With a win last night, they now sit 4.5 games behind the third place Yankees. Devers, Masa, and the Sox look to right the ship as the newest chapter in the one-hundred-plus year-old rivalry begins. June has been tumultuous so far. A 4-5 continuation of a frustrating season, and not many answers for the questions asked during the off-season. Last night though, the Red Sox took down the Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Garrett Whitlock had six strikeouts and one earned run allowed over 6 and 1/3 innings. Rafael Devers paced the offense, going 2-4 with a home run. In the first outing between the two teams this year, Boston might have found a momentum building win by getting past Gerritt Cole, the Yankee’s ace. The weather forecast predicts temperatures in the 80’s and the rivalry might see a similar spike in intensity.
